The Essence of Energy: Qigong and Meditation Training

Find Balance and Harmony with regular Qigong and Meditation practice.

We offer a dynamic variety of well-preserved cultivation practices  through the Water Method, one of the very few complete Taoist lineage systems left in the modern age. Cameron studied  in person with Master Bruce Frantzis, Lineage Holder of the Water Method arts for over five years. With experience ranging from Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan to Baguazhang, Cameron is a certified level III teacher in Energy Gates Neigong, Foundational Neigong, Dragon and Tiger Qigong, and Taoist Breathing.

Qigong vs Neigong: What’s the Difference?

Qigong is a term that is becoming more well known in the west for its subtle movements and research-supported health benefits. It involves using breath and the movement of the body to modulate the wei chi and the etheric energy (just under the skin and external to the body, respectively). Neigong is often thrown under the same blanket term as qigong, much as I did above, but is actually quite different in its approach. Neigong involves generating movement from deep inside the body, activating different layers of tissues and energy in a systematic and intentional way; separating and combining components within the body until eventually the mind and body become totally unified as one piece. These techniques not only offer the door to immense health benefits and levels of relaxation that are arguably unattainable through any comparable modern western system, these same arts were also the keys that high level tai chi masters used in ancient China to generate a huge amount of energy into seemingly small, effortless movements. Neigong and Qigong are both ways of refining and developing one’s energy, and when practiced properly, the techniques of both styles support and feed into one another.

Benefits of Qigong and Neigong:

  • **Enhanced Vitality:** Regular practice invigorates the body's energy, leading to increased stamina, strength, and overall well-being.
  • **Stress Reduction:** By harmonizing the body's energetic system, these practices offer a powerful antidote to stress, promoting a state of calm and relaxation.
  • **Immune System Support:** The movements and circulation that are optimized by activating these movements help stimulate the immune system, providing a natural boost to the body's defense mechanisms.
  • **Emotional Balance:** The Water Method has a systematic approach towards meditation  and spiritual development that is pragmatic and thorough, whether through movement or in Taoist Meditation. There are few systems that offer such a capacity to not only cultivate physical health, but also to eradicate the roots of physical and emotional pain, if one so desires.

BRT and Meditation

  • **Moving Through Limitation:** One of the biggest complaints we hear about people who want to meditate is how difficult it is to relax the mind, and to settle the system to a point where the benefits of meditation can be fully realized. Using techniques in Bio-Regulation Therapy, it is possible to create an ideal electromagnetic environment for the brain and the body to be receptive to dropping into deeper meditative states; allowing one to achieve Progress in the meditative arts in a fraction of the time than would otherwise be achievable.
  • **Focus on Structure:** We teach clients how to sit and breathe using optimal structural alignments to optimize blood and qi flow, enhancing peace of mind and a sense of continuity during practice.
  • **Integrating the Mind and Body:** Teaching students how to integrate sitting practice seamlessly with movement practices to keep practicing fresh and the body open.

  • **Comprehensive Approach:** The Water Method arts are arguably the most well preserved and comprehensive lineage system which has been passed down through rigorous development in temples over a period of thousands of years; preserved in the west by my the efforts of my teacher Master Bruce Frantzis, and his teacher, Taoist Immortal Liu Hung Chieh. In a world that is changing at an unparalleled pace, having a practice that is firmly rooted in the past through generations of systematic refinement can be of tremendous value.
